I'm Dreaming of a White Kronia - Necklace
I’m dreaming of a White Kronia…just like the one the Greeks used to know. The Ancient Greek Holiday Kronia was a celebration of the God Kronos, who was an ancient God of grain and the harvest. The equivalent holiday for the Romans was the Saturnalia, honoring the God Saturn, which was celebrated on December 17th through the 23rd. Both holidays were tremendous celebrations that involved great feasting, debauchery, and customs such as role reversal with their slaves. Since both holidays honored their God of Agriculture, the Kronia Necklace with its green Swarovski crystal and copper components combine the sparkle of the holidays with the colors of the harvest.
This necklace was made with Swarovski crystal, copper beads, and glass beads. It measures 16 ½” long and closes with a copper box clasp.
