I'm Dreaming of a White Kronia - Earrings
I’m dreaming of a White Kronia…just like the one the Greeks used to know. The Ancient Greek Holiday Kronia was a celebration of the God Kronos, who was an ancient God of grain and the harvest. The equivalent holiday for the Romans was the Saturnalia, honoring the God Saturn, which was celebrated on December 17th through the 23rd. Both holidays were tremendous celebrations that involved great feasting, debauchery, and customs such as role reversal with their slaves. Since both holidays honored their God of Agriculture, the Kronia Earrings with their green Swarovski crystal, gold leaves, and copper components, combine the sparkle of the holidays with the colors of the harvest.
These earrings were made with 24KT gold dipped Pine leaves, Swarovski crystal, copper beads, and glass beads. They measure 3 ¼” long and have 14KT gold fill hook earwires.
