Artemis was the twin sister of Apollo. Apollo was the God of the sun and Artemis was the Goddess of the moon. They had a very close relationship. Together they avenged their mother Leto's honor by killing a giant who tried to rape her before they were born. Apollo and Artemis defended their mother's honor again when a Theban Queen, Niobe, claimed to be better than their mother on the grounds that she had more children than her. Artemis and Apollo then mercilessly shot all the children of Niobe. As you can see Honor was a big part of Greek Mythology. The handmade bead on these earrings represents both the sun and the moon, and thus the twins Artemis and Apollo.

These earrings are made with handmade beads, Swarovski crystal, glass beads, and copper wire. They measure 3" in length and have 14KT gold filled french hoop earwires.
