Aphrodite was married to the unsightly and lame God Hephaestus, the God of the Forge and also a master of fire. He spent little time on Mount Olympus since the other Gods often made fun of him but preferred to spend his time in his underground forges. The Greeks believed his workshops were under volcanoes, and when they smoke and spat fire the God and his companions were hard at work. This necklace made of lava and red (fire-like) coral might have been made by the God to give to his beautiful wife.

This necklace is made of natural lava stones and red coral. It measure 16 1/2" in length, closes with a gold plated bar and ring toggle clasp, and matches the Hephaestus Earrings.
