The Evil Eye is a good luck charm that is very commonly found in Greece. Also known as the "Mati" bead, you'll find it in homes, jewelry, or pinned to a new born baby. Why? It is believed throughout parts of the Mediterranean that you can receive bad luck from envious looks or high praise. It is certainly not bad luck to receive high praise, but bad fortune and evil can hide behind these words or glances.
